Watched Perhaps Love on Monday.. with a whole bunch of ppl i dun really noe.. There's my Xiang Gong, Jia Hui in front of me.. and Jia Liang randomly stuck with Chia and our super seniors.. hAaz.. OHh well, weird seating arrangement due to the last min booking effort. >_<

Great great show.. even though the plot may appear a little absurd and commonly used. A love triangle-- ancient, cobwebsy plot.. BUT!

bUt buT But...

Ignore the plot, look at the entire picture, the things going on on the bIg coLouRfUL screen... Beyond the dazzling gaze of Takeshi Kaneshiro, beyond the subtley seductive Zhou Xuan, past the big glowing stardom of Jackie Cheung... Into the sweet sweet world of pure lyrical expression, onto the beauty of pure cinematic pleasure, of well formed pictorial composition and strikingly rich images...

Combine these and the above.. O.o And I must say, the director do noe how to make full use of the cast.. Takeshi Kaneshiro's captive eyes, the shadow of thought constantly lingering in their wake.. Zhou Xuan's beauty and sharp features, her sensual speech and provocative body language... Jackie's deep thoughtful portrayal of a great director torn between his love for a lover, and love for his movie about love... Slowly, he breaks down... Peeling away layers of his hide....

One of the strongest performance I've ever seen... Almost echoing that of a theatrical performance, a medium the director cleverly employed to work to his advantage.

Well... if you still don't get what I mean... Go watch the show.. ^-^
