A couple of days ago, i watched "Closer A p a r t" by Victric Thng.
It was beautiful.
Visually stunning and disturbingly romantic. It would be what I call, a visual poem. Cheers to Victric once more (I loved "Goodbye, Firefly" and "Moonly" too)! Anyway, my favourite image has to be the one in which the actor and actress hugged each other on the bed, breast to back. It's so close that it's tantalising, yet so devoid of sentiments that it's painful. It's also so familiar that it's saddening... oh well...
A heavy film nonethless, I told Victric that I agree with some of the critics, it's a not an easy film to watch. But close your eyes and open your heart, perhaps then, you'll hear the faintest whisper of hate, murder and love weaved into a timeless story...
By the way, applause for RJC Year 1 AEP and MEP students. A brilliant job on the short films that you all did. It was indeed wonderful collaboration between the two great minds for which, I must say deserves a lot of acknowledgement.
It is not easy, I would know that, but these students have done it; with style and grace. Some improvements here and there would be good, but that's what school is for, to learn and to improve ya? =) Anyway, a word of comment, music and sound, when carefully planned and laid out, could really breathe life into the art form. Alrights, Chia would be so proud of all of you. Anyway, some randomness before I end:
SPLEEN is my new favourite word. It manages to sound so funny and gross at the same time that it's confusing.
