Mel Gibson's own genre is becoming surprisingly palpable in his latest film "APOCALYPTO".
Once again, the movie looks at the audience in the eyes and shouts to our hearts, "Don't Fuck with My Family or I'll F*****G Kill YOU!!!" Haha, it's not a bad thing to portray, very inspirational. The nature of this film behaves like a billion dollar documentary, not unlike some really polished ones by BBC - Blue Planet, or National Geographic. It's eye-opening, fresh, beautiful and informative, minus the narration by Attenbourgh. It's still cool though.
2 Hours 18 Minutes of run time (quite literally) and you will feel from joy, panick, fear, sadness, anger, detest to more fear, bravery and finally triumph. But not a single moment of boredom, promise. Mel Gibson, together with his cast and crew have brought to you a very engaging movie that puts you at the edge of your seat constantly. It runs like a documentary, but tingles like a psycho-thriller. It's a worthwhile movie experience, forget about the small tv sets! Forget about getting some cheapo pirated DVD and watching it cracking and blurring in the small hole of your home! Go instead for the BiG ThiNG because it's worth it. BRILLIANT!
*A note to all: Like any other Mel Gibson's movie, "Apocalypto" is a tad on the bloody and gorish side, watch with caution; beautiful Art Direction though.*
